And so, today I was confronted.
As mention from my previous post, I kept silent and overlook the card. She doesn't seem to recognize all the subtle hints I've been throwing at her time after time. Maybe I should cut some slack, considering she's a female. Female species are dense and plain stupid as compared to the superior male.
She invited me to catch a movie with her church friends once. And of course, you know, girls gossip. Their impression of me is of someone that is cool and quiet, someone whose feelings are unpredictable.
Well, they are not the first to say that. I have my opponents telling me that too. I mean, when playing Magic, you have to keep a poker face to prevent your opponent from reading your moves. Same applies to poker, duh. Perhaps, this is one of the subconscious side-effect of playing competitive Magic. But after getting to know me better, you will find them I am, you know, quite the nut. Okay okay, from now, I shall just keep quiet, stare across the distance wistfully and look pretty.
Back to topic, her friend hinted slight interest in me, and I replied that I wouldn't mind dating that girl out.
(No really, I wouldn't mind getting to know someone better. She's quite friendly, bubbly and a bit above average looking.)
That's one supposely subtle hint I used.
And after more reasoning, hints and cold-spiked statements. It finally boils down to me this.
"Thank you for your feelings. Unfortunately, I am not able(or should I say willing) to return them. I see you as a friend not as someone with romantic notions."
Gawd, that finally worked. Now I finally understand your feelings, Aly. Ha! It's no wonder, you get stressed at times. You're too kind-hearted, just like me, of course.
Moral: Just get straight to the point and quit beating the bush.
