Things never change. | Thursday, March 09, 2006
Darn, now I am branded as a pervert.
You see, I followed the lingering durian smell with my nose and it led us to... a sleazy area; which was unexpected.
Elaine, of course, indirectly protected me with her presence. So yeah, I felt secure without having to wear double underwear and jeans. But I was punched later, because she mistaken the meaning of my words. I just wanted to...*sigh*. Never mind.
There are times when mistake made will haunt you for a lifetime; yesterday was one of those nights. I didn't bring my digicam! Elaine was comedy incarnate. Her expressions were priceless! Too bad I didn't get the opportunity to watch her eat. Being forced to turn my head around...360degrees.
And you were very rude. How could you exclaim people's food smell like shit. Tsk, so insensitive! If I am the auntie, I would be very hurt by what you said. I am disappointed in you.
But it was fun yesterday, right?

Today I learned cooking from my mother.
Nowadays, families have two working parents, I can't push all the housework to my beloved future wife, right? After all, my wife should be supporting the family, while I work to support solely myself. And I planned to do 75% of the housework anyway. Who says I am short-sighted, Dad? I have already planned out my career and a dozen backup plans.
Anyone who knows Clement well will know that he's a master theorist. All talk no action. That sounds a bit degrading, but that's what I do. People say I make a good manager.
While cooking, I was discussing with my mother that pouring water on meat and vegetable will cause the water to evaporate while my mother claims that most of the water will be absorbed. Really, I am not quite sure.
But my other theories work anyway. If you consider the fact I have little to no cooking experience. Here are some of them...
When making filling, beef and pork combination will give a different texture and flavour. I stir-fry both of them at the same time and my mum added black soya sauce to give it a more even colour. I was quite happy with the results.
The person who made chicken taste like beef(to me) by adding celery was a genius. My own tastebuds, I guess. I really wondered what else he used, perhaps the seasoning?
I was right to add less milk. Milk makes things creamier and softer.
Potato didnt turn out that well. Can anyone teach a thing or two about different potatoes?
